ArtsChange offers free art classes to all youth 14-21 at RYSE center in Richmond. We also work in partnerships with other organizations and schools to provide art classes off site. If you are interested in having ArtsChange come to your organization or school and teach a class, please contact us!
Here is our current schedule of art classes below:
Design 101
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5
Teachers: Jose E. & Alejandra P.
Objective: Teach the basics of Illustrator & Photoshop – Commands, tools, brushes, formats, sizes, printing, color adjustment, resolution, rasterizing, vector, layer, etc
Intro to Art/ Analysis of Form
Wednesdays 4-6
Teacher: David Elmore
Objective: Study the basics and theories of art through the foundations and principles of light, shadow, values, line weight, and perspective. Manipulate these tools by composing illustrations of social commentary. Gain experience drawing from objects and images as well as developing ideas from the imagination that address pressing issues that affect our community and society as a whole. Use art as a weapon and an extension of self-expression.
Expression, Action & Creativity
Thursdays 4-6
Teachers: Joseph Mintz & Amaryllis DeJesus Moleski
Objective: This workshop will use photography, stories and conversation, and life size stencil making as a way to record and express our own histories and legacies. Throughout the course of these workshops, you will learn the basics of digital photography to then transform into different stages of expression, action, and creativity. No previous experience needed.
